I’m a middle-aged millennial who became a business owner, wife, mom and caretaker late in life. I thought that if I ignored my own needs long enough that life would be perfect.

As it turns out, ‘running it all’ was not possible all of the time, the pursuit was burning me out, making me sick and - SURPRISE, SURPRISE! - I couldn’t be in control of anything.

So I’m diving into art for art’s sake like my life depends on it - because it does. Art is the answer because it’s the only place I can experience messy, unknowable, pure joy and exploration for it’s own sake.
